The proposed thesis aims to investigate first of all the role that the state assigns to faculty members in the context of public administration, the configuration and evaluation of public policy, as well as how this role is reflected in the functioning of the state and the lives of citizens. The research will then look for public bodies in which academics are used. After collecting and studying the findings of the proposed primary research, the dissertation will focus on the administrative issues that arise, such as how the services provided by faculty members are ultimately used to improve state action, fulfill public purposes and serve the public interest.
The basic working hypothesis of the study is whether and how faculty members affect the Greek public administration, in order to achieve its optimal operation. By extension, whether it is necessary or possible, according to current data, to make more effective use of faculty members, especially in the configuration and evaluation of public policies, in which sectors and under what administrative vehicle (central administration, committees, organizations, supervision).
The proposed dissertation is expected to explain the importance of configuring and evaluating evidence-based public policies, to analyze the contribution of faculty members to the exercise of public policy, to improving the quality of decisions and ultimately of public services, as well as to assess whether the existing legislative framework facilitates the utilization of academics in the context of public administration
