"The minimum wage in Greece: The emergence of a public policy and its challenging instruments"

Abstract

Research interest in the minimum wage has grown significantly in Greece during the past years. This may can be probably explained by the unprecedented austerity policies implemented during the period of the Adjustment Programs (2010-2018), mostly characterized by the horizontal salary cuts during the first years of the crisis.

The starting hypothesis of the thesis is that during the aforementioned period the reforms introduced signal a paradigm shift in the minimum wage policy in Greece.
