SOCIAL POLICY AND ADMINISTRATION

This course focuses on the analysis of the social objectives and principles of effectiveness, equality and social justice of the modern welfare state. A comparative investigation of social protection systems in EU countries is conducted, analyzing specific issues related to the allocation and funding of social benefits. For a more complete presentation and analysis of these problems, emphasis is placed on methodology and results of coordinated social surveys conducted at the European level. The course also addresses particular issues relating to the comparative analysis covering the fields of social welfare, social protection, health and housing, as well as pension and benefit policies of EU countries.Finally, the economic and social dimensions of poverty and social exclusion are presented and discussed.
