Curriculum Vitae

Dimitris N. Chryssochoou is Professor of Theory and Institutions of European Integration in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the College of Social Sciences and International Studies of the University of Exeter (31 Dec. 2019-31 Dec. 2022) and Senior Fellow at the Cyprus Center for European and International Affairs of the University of Nicosia (1 Mar.-31 Dec. 2022). On 30 January 1998, Feast Day of the Three Hierarchs, he was honoured for his doctoral thesis ‘From Democracies to Democracy: The Case of the European Community’ with the 1997 European Studies Award by the Foundation for the Advancement of European Studies and the Hellenic University Association for European Studies. In February 2021, his book Politeiologia of unions (in Greek, I. Sideris Publications, 2020) has been awarded an Honorary Distinction for Original Planning and Exemplary Writing by the Hellenic Political Science Association. On 30 January 2022, Feast Day of the Three Hierarchs, he was ordained Archon Referendarios of the Holy Great Church of Christ by His All-Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Holy Patriarchate Church of Saint George at the Phanar. In May 2022, he was honoured with the Medal of the Municipality of Hydra for the 200 Years from the Greek Revolution.
