The Postgraduate Studies Programme in International and European Governance and Politics was established in 1994, initially named as "European Organisation and Diplomacy".

Its main objective is to meet the need to provide specialised knowledge on contemporary European and international issues.

An important feature of the postgraduate program is interdisciplinary, i.e. the examination of European and international phenomena from different perspectives and scientific approaches. This choice reflects the complexity of situations and the interdependence of factors in the real world. Consequently, the 35 graduates, that are selected each year to attend the Programme, may come from a wide range of university departments.

After completion of the postgraduate course, graduates are able, if they wish, to proceed to a doctorate.
